We recently stayed here to gel away from a hectic schedule and to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our stay was all we expected and more. Nate the owner made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. He was friendly, helpful, informative and funny. The Inn was beautiful and very clean and the bed in room 9 was like a giant marshmallow- SOOOO comfortable! The bathroom was spacious and clean and the L'Occitane bath products were delightful. I need to buy more! The grounds and walking path were beautiful and peaceful. We left relaxed and happy and will visit again in the Fall to experience the foliage around the property. Be sure to visit nearby Simon Pearce for the glass blowing and a lovely meal. Thank you Nate for all your hospitality!
“Best B&B we have ever stayed in!”
We have stayed in many B&B's, and this is the best. Most B&B's don't exactly look as they do on the website. Don't include the Snapdragon in that description. From the beautiful exterior, well manicured grounds and walking paths, to the extremely clean room, this place exceeds all expectations. I have never gone anywhere that the customer service has been such a priority. One of the owners, Nate, took time to explain the history of the town, buildings and surrounding communities to us. His passion is obvious in the way that he takes care of the guests and the Snapdragon.
This is a perfect couples getaway. We had a couples massage that was terrific. The staff has a great balance of both humorous and professional attitude. Take time to hit the walking paths and check out the pond. We came when it was raining for several days in a row. No problem there. Several umbrellas sit at the door to borrow as you wish. This made for a very romantic walk. This place just read our mind every step of the way. We will be returning later in the season to visit the American Precision Museum and will not look further than the Snapdragon Inn. I can't wait to return.
The place is GORGEOUS. The room itself even more so. Beautiful restorations to a historic home. I slept like a log, as everything was so quiet and peaceful. No noisiness here.Breakfast was wonderful, yummy and healthful. My friend who was pacing me was also invited to attend our morning breakfast, she joined our little trip at the last minute and wasn't able to book a hotel so stayed at a nearby campsite. It was so nice of them to let her stay, and it was a wonderful close to our amazing weekend away. Wonderful stay, and I really hope to be back again. :)
On these rainy rainy days, it's hard not to want to wrap up in one of our soft bathrobes, curl into a feather bed, and watch movies or read all day long. What do you like to do on rainy days?
Thanks to our weekend guest for this lovely review on TripAdvisor!
The folks at the Snapdragon Inn got it right. The inn has a comfortable, contemporary vibe even as it references its considerable history (former home of Maxwell Perkins, literary editor of Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Wolfe). The rooms are comfortable with nice touches (fluffy down comforters, maple sugar candies, heavy white bathrobes hanging in the clean, airy bathrooms). Continental breakfasts include good coffee, Greek yogurt, granola, great breads, and heaps of fresh fruit, among other options. Rocking chairs beckon on the large back porch, and there's plenty of great reading material (plus flat screen TVs in every room, if that's more your style). Definitely worth a return visit.
A wonderful surprise stands in the midst of the beautiful and quaint village of Windsor, Vermont. We found the lovely Snapdragon Inn on google.maps and I am so glad we did. The Inn surpassed our expectations - the structure, the woodwork, flooring, rooms, ambience, the price - all combined to give the feeling of casual elegance. We had Room 6 King which was so tastefully furnished and decorated and created a very serene "home away from home". The bath towels were the fluffiest I have ever experienced, every detail of the inn, down to the photographs on the wall taken by one of the owners, were a special treat...Read on here.
The rooms were luxurious; from the comfortable beds, high end linens and a heated bathroom floor it seems that not a detail was missed. I can’t wait for our next anniversary to come back!
Our stay at Snapdragon Inn was just what we needed to get away from the stress of life and this Boston winter. From the moment out hosts met us at the door and we saw the roaring wood burning stove we started to unwind. Everything from there got even better, from the clean and spacious room with the exellent heated bathroom floor to the to Inn keepers warmth and hospitality. The simplistic and elegant decorations showed much thought and style. The location could not have been bettter with walking distance to down town and a short driving distance to everything Vermont has to offer. We will see you again Steve, Chaz and family next trip :)
This place is truly wonderful. As a frequent traveler, it's rare to have this kind of experience. Immaculate. Wonderfully decorated. Extremely knowledgeable and warm staff. And best of all, as the former home of Max Perkins (famous Scribner editor credited to nurturing the careers of Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald among others), there's a terrific creative energy about the place. Five stars.
Top 5 places I've ever stayed. One of the most relaxing, comfortable stays of my life. As the lone occupant, I felt unworthy of the luxury of the room. But the most important thing was the attitude of the owner... instantly felt like a friend. I've found myself trying to design excuses to revisit Windsor.
A guest recently posted this wonderful review on trip advisor. He was traveling the east coast with a friend and they were only in our area for the night so we gave them Rooms 1 & Room 2(check out before & after shots) as they share an alcove but each with their own bathroom of course. It's the perfect set up for more guests so you can go back and forth to rooms without going into the hall. They were traveling from London and couldn't stop talking about how quiet it felt. We certainly forget what a luxury that can be.
"The bed in my room had what was quite possibly the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on, and it was so nice to get away from the roar and bustle of a big city."
