Recent Review: Room 3

Chris

It's February! Yesterday was warm & windy but the temperature is much more February today. Enjoy your first weekend of the month. We are gearing up for a full few days with our wonderful guests. Here's a recent review from one of our past guests.
Always am a bit hesitant to head to B&B's as I feel they can be on the musty side and so on. This place was a winner though. Completely renovated in 2010 it has beautiful pine floors, good wifi/TV, etc, excellent bathroom with heated floors and a bed that was so good, we slept through breakfast. Well sized, immaculate with modern/cheerful rooms. Very quiet as well & with helpful staff. Located in the pretty locale of Windsor and near 89/91 so easy on/off. Close to Quechee/Woodstock areas. Head to Simon Pearce for a great dinner by the water.
Room Tip: We stayed in Room 3. Up one floor. Faces street and parking but was still very quiet with lots of light.

This just in...

Today we were awarded the 2012 Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor. We are very excited by this recent award since it reflects what YOU think about Snapdragon Inn. Thank you to our staff-- Cindy, Christie, Jeannie, Deb, Eva and Heidi-- for being rockstars and helping keep the Inn clean and ready to greet our guests.  These were notes from Trip Advisor on how they award each year.

Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.

Room 9

Here is another excellent review that came in this week. We love the bit about the bed in Room 9!
We recently stayed here to gel away from a hectic schedule and to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our stay was all we expected and more. Nate the owner made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. He was friendly, helpful, informative and funny. The Inn was beautiful and very clean and the bed in room 9 was like a giant marshmallow- SOOOO comfortable! The bathroom was spacious and clean and the L'Occitane bath products were delightful. I need to buy more! The grounds and walking path were beautiful and peaceful. We left relaxed and happy and will visit again in the Fall to experience the foliage around the property. Be sure to visit nearby Simon Pearce for the glass blowing and a lovely meal. Thank you Nate for all your hospitality!

"Best B&B we have ever stayed in!"

The Snapdragon Inn

This review just came. We love how they took delight in the details because we think they make all the difference. Thanks for this amazing review and we can't wait to see you again!

“Best B&B we have ever stayed in!”
We have stayed in many B&B's, and this is the best. Most B&B's don't exactly look as they do on the website. Don't include the Snapdragon in that description. From the beautiful exterior, well manicured grounds and walking paths, to the extremely clean room, this place exceeds all expectations. I have never gone anywhere that the customer service has been such a priority. One of the owners, Nate, took time to explain the history of the town, buildings and surrounding communities to us. His passion is obvious in the way that he takes care of the guests and the Snapdragon.
This is a perfect couples getaway. We had a couples massage that was terrific. The staff has a great balance of both humorous and professional attitude. Take time to hit the walking paths and check out the pond. We came when it was raining for several days in a row. No problem there. Several umbrellas sit at the door to borrow as you wish. This made for a very romantic walk. This place just read our mind every step of the way. We will be returning later in the season to visit the American Precision Museum and will not look further than the Snapdragon Inn. I can't wait to return.

Our guests rock!

The Snapdragon Inn

Some of our recent guests wrote a wonderful review on their incredibly lovely travel blog, Tried & Traveled. Go check out more of their beautiful photos of Windsor.
The Inn is a 9 room Bed & Breakfast, backing up to Lake Runnemede, complete with rocking chairs on the porch & an old wood-seat swing quietly hanging from an old oak tree. We were spoiled here. The families that operate & own the Inn were polite and very accommodating. {Check out their site for more info} but I must tell you, there are heated floors in the bathroom. Holy freakin’ my gosh! HEATED FLOORS IN THE BATHROOM! We got in late that evening, which happened to be our 3rd anniversary, {Happy Anniversary Dear}, so we stayed in, ordered pizza & had a bottle of Veuve Clicquot to celebrate. We awoke in the morning to the sun creeping in across the natural hardwood floors. After breakfast & coffee in our room we went out for a walk to the lake. To our surprise the lake was completely frozen over and two men were out in the middle ice fishing. It was like a scene from a movie

Some bits & bobs:
This is certainly one of the more creative ones we've received.

Bits & Bobs

The Snapdragon Inn

Happy February everyone! It's been busy week at the Snapdragon Inn and we are gearing up for another sold out weekend. This was a lovely review from one of our mid-week guests

Snapdragon Inn is the place to stay in Vermont! The rooms are impeccably decorated and have the most comfortable beds you will ever sleep in. In addition to creating a very peaceful environment, the owners have preserved the unique history of the inn...making it a true destination. Not only are the accommodations and amenities top notch, the entire staff at the Snapdragon Inn are people who put you at ease. They give just the right of amount of attention to your stay and provide the comfort of genuine hospitality. I wanted to unpack and stay awhile. This is an exceptionally beautiful inn where you feel right at home.

Some bits & bobs:
The book choice for February's literary club meeting has been chosen. You can get more details here.
We only need 9 more to hit 500 here.
This company makes amazing products. Looking forward to using them on our Spa menu.
These always make our day!

Have a wonderful weekend!

New Reviews!

The Snapdragon Inn

Usually on January 10th the ground is covered with a thick layer of snow and ice so this is certainly an odd winter for us in Windsor.  In Saying that, it is quite a treat to be able to walk around Paradise park without skis or snowshoes. We are so lucky to be steps away from such a beautiful lake and park reserve. This is definitely a highlight that so many of our guests enjoy.
Everything in Snapdragon is perfect - the location is right on a cute lake but at the outskirts of a little town, only 4 hours drive from NY. The inn itself is a beautiful house, exclusively furnished and very well maintained, with correct touches of luxury and the nicest inn keepers. The area offers many touring and dining options (don't miss Simon Pearce). Overall we couldn't hope for a better b&b experience. Highly recommended! -Guest from NYC

New Review!

The Snapdragon Inn

We were very excited to read this wonderful new review on Trip Advisor! They stayed in Room 3 which has been quite popular with its soft blue hi-lites. Go here to read more reviews

The place is GORGEOUS. The room itself even more so. Beautiful restorations to a historic home. I slept like a log, as everything was so quiet and peaceful. No noisiness here.Breakfast was wonderful, yummy and healthful. My friend who was pacing me was also invited to attend our morning breakfast, she joined our little trip at the last minute and wasn't able to book a hotel so stayed at a nearby campsite. It was so nice of them to let her stay, and it was a wonderful close to our amazing weekend away. Wonderful stay, and I really hope to be back again. :)

Autumn decor, reviews & last minute deals

The Snapdragon Inn

Here are a few pictures of the inn during this early Autumn season. The fountain foliage is still looking gorgeous and we've added some touches as we welcome our many foliage seeking guests this week. We can't wait to see you!

On a recent adventure with my young son, I found myself too tired to make it home, and we unexpectedly made our way into Windsor, VT, finding this wonderful Inn. It was the most delightful stay, at a historical gem, beautifully and tastefully restored and well appointed, with the most lovely family caretakers. My young son was treated with respect and therefore behaved accordingly, we loved the generously comfortable room, freshly prepared continental breakfast and very friendly welcome. I love the Snapdragon chap stick, a gift in our room, and every detail and amenity was appreciated. The stroll around the lake was lovely, and the town has some interesting sites to see. We had a fabulous meal at the Burdick restaurant (French bistro food and handmade find chocolates!) in Walpole, twenty minutes away and many other fine restaurants are within close proximity and worth the drive. Snapdragon is conveniently well located very close to Billings Farm, Dartmouth and many other fabulous destinations. Cannot beat the friendly welcoming charm and reasonable rates for such a fine place to stay. I highly recommend giving this wonderful new place a try.

Rainy rainy days

The Snapdragon Inn

On these rainy rainy days, it's hard not to want to wrap up in one of our soft bathrobes, curl into a feather bed, and watch movies or read all day long. What do you  like to do on rainy days?

Thanks to our weekend guest for this lovely review on TripAdvisor!
The folks at the Snapdragon Inn got it right. The inn has a comfortable, contemporary vibe even as it references its considerable history (former home of Maxwell Perkins, literary editor of Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Wolfe). The rooms are comfortable with nice touches (fluffy down comforters, maple sugar candies, heavy white bathrobes hanging in the clean, airy bathrooms). Continental breakfasts include good coffee, Greek yogurt, granola, great breads, and heaps of fresh fruit, among other options. Rocking chairs beckon on the large back porch, and there's plenty of great reading material (plus flat screen TVs in every room, if that's more your style). Definitely worth a return visit.

This was fun to read

The Snapdragon Inn

We were so happy to read this guest's notice of so many of the design details at the Inn.
The newly renovated inn has both bold and muted colors reflecting a crisp design sense more often associated with urban hotels. The amenities and finishes are elegant while eclectic--post-modern lamps combine with throw pillows provide accent colors befitting the decor. --Guest, Massachusetts

Thank you Thank you!

How's your weekend rounding out? Windsor is gearing up for the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl Game tomorrow afternoon between the Vermont and New Hampshire 2011 high school all star football teams.  First, we'll have the always entertaining Shriners parade down Main Street right by the Inn and move into the the big game just down the street at the Windsor high school field in the afternoon. Windsor has two players on the team this year, Jacob Page and Austin Soule so we are very excited for them and wish our VT team three cheers and good luck!
