The perfect quote

"Max Perkins: Editor of Genius" by A. Scott Berg, the biography we mentioned a couple weeks ago that is in talks for a big screen version with Sean Penn has some great Windsor mentions. One of the best is on page 22 and I think it is the perfect quote for our Inn paired with the fantastic reviews we've been receiving on the comfort of our beds.
Bed time had always been Perkins favorite time of the day, those few minutes just before falling asleep when he could "steer his dreams." In those final moments of wakefulness Maxwell Perkins recurringly transported himself back to Russia in 1812--the scene of his favorite book, War and Peace. Night after night his mind filled with visions of Napoleon's army retreating from Moscow in the frost and early winter snow. On mornings in Vermont after Tolstoi's character' s had paraded before him, he insisted that his dreams were more more vivid and that he slept more soundly in Windsor than anywhere else.
