Yesterday we received our book order for the library. We worked with Strand Book Store in NYC and they came up with a fantastic selection of books related to Maxwell Perkins his writers, his times and Vermont history . Before we ordered she sent a picture of the selection of books and a detail of each one. Pretty cool way to start a library and just love the custom feel of the whole experience. We do have a few books here and there to add to this foundational collection. We are also VERY glad we didn't go with floor to ceiling shelves as that would have been SO MANY books. This is much more manageable.
A little info on Strand: In 1927, Ben Bass opened Strand Book Store on Fourth Avenue, home of New York's legendary Book Row. Named after the famous publishing street in London, the Strand was one of 48 bookstores on Book Row, which started in the 1890's and ran from Union Square to Astor Place. Today, the Strand is the sole survivor.
We love that it is a family business just like us!

We wanted to get the books onto the shelves but we have yet to style them. That is a post in and of itself!
