An integral part of this story is the serendipitous meeting of D & M (thanks to our dear friend K) while N8, Mck, Mike, Lucy, and I were in India last year. They are the brilliance and master minds behind a garment manufacturer that sells to buyers throughout Europe (such as a little ole name, H&M anybody?). The colors and textures are outstandingly inspiring to any designer/artist who sets foot on that very land. D & M mentioned to us that if we ever wanted to collaborate to get in touch with them, and when the Inn was born we did just that. They are brilliant to try and fit us into their busy busy schedule and help us navigate these very new waters.
With all that said, I am heading to India on September 23- October 6th for one heck of a learning trip. In that time I hope to sign off on the final screens of our own custom fabric designs for the Inn, source already existing fabrics for pillows and curtains, visit several printers so I can get a better understanding of the printing process and know better about what files they use and anything else I can squeeze in. I really feel like this project is years in the making.
